Quality Affordable Housing Proposed for Lower Fox Point
FPNA is pleased to announce our endorsement of a $23 million mixed-use development proposed for “Parcel 9” of 195 land, located in lower Fox Point just south of Wickenden Street, by the Our Lady of the Rosary church. The “Ernestina” project, which was submitted for approval to the 195 Commission in August by the nonprofit organization ONE Neighborhood Builders, will include affordable apartments, a Children’s Friend childcare center, community space, and a combination of on-site and nearby (leased) parking.
There is a lot to like about the Ernestina. Not only does FPNA applaud ONB’s adherence to the City’s Comprehensive Plan in developing this project, we appreciate its responsiveness to the needs of the community by providing quality affordable housing and childcare. What’s more, ONB has responded to neighbor feedback by pledging to preserve nearby natural landscaping and make conservative use of airspace. We are delighted to support this project and urge the 195 Commission to approve it.
